HSE Rig Pass Session


IADC offers accreditation for Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Orientation Programs that meet the criteria established by the Association's Health, Safety & Environment Committee. This safety certification is recognized around the world as the standard for safety programs, regardless of whether a rig is for oil or natural gas, or onshore or offshore. Students will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to adhere to the most rigid safety standards.

Course Objective

The key objective of IADC HSE Rig Pass program is to provide employees with a basic orientation of rig operations and safe work practices. Ideally, this should occur before the employee begins work at the rig. However, due to various logistical conditions in the drilling industry, this will not always be possible. The ultimate goal of this program is to improve the safety performance of the Contractors and the Exploration and Production Operators and to assist both in satisfying federal, state and industry regulations and recommended practice

Course Outline

Following course modules will be covered in three days theoretical session to provide delegates with sufficient in-depth knowledge of the standard topics:

4.Occupational Health & Safety
5.Specialized work procedures
6.Fire Safety
7.Materials Handling
8.Health & First Aid
9.Rig & Platform Environment
10.Emergency Response
11.Well Site Environmental Protection


Successful completion

Students will complete this program followed by a written exam he or she must pass. On successful completion of the course an HSE Rig Pass card will be issued by International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) USA to each successful student.
